Mobility Assistance Dog
A Mobility Assistance Dog can increase your independence if you use a wheelchair, have trouble standing, or have troble ambulating. Mobility dogs are great for helping pick up dropped objects and opening doors as well. These dogs can help reduce the dependence of other people.
Mobility and Assistance Service Dogs are dogs that are trained to help provide balance and stability to a person who may have difficulty walking, as well as assisting with every day tasks. These dogs can be trained to help brace as a person gets out of a chair so the person is able to get up from a sitting position easier. A Service Animal can also help with turning on/off a light, opening doors, putting laundry into a washer and helping remove clothes from dryer, as well as bringing various items such as a phone, medicine, and water. Mobility and Assistance Service Dogs can also help provide balance for a person going up and down stairs. Larger breed Service Dogs can also be used to help pull a wheelchair.
